Will people key (scratch) a luxury car?

My dad is thinking about getting a cadillac, but our biggest concern is that people will key our car when we park in a public place!
My dad drives to a lot of different places (both west&east sides) because he freelances.
Do you their is a possibility that we could get keyed?

theres really no knowing of what will happen to your car. its really whether or not you are willing to take the risk. if you are familiar with the areas, you may or may not know if vehicle vandalism is common or not. thats pretty much all i can say because theres no sure answer. im sorry i couldnt be of more help to you, this is a pure case of risk. if he is willing to take the risk, than you should buy the car. =)

Anybody could key any car. And you're outrageously vague with "west and east sides". Sides of what? Town, state, country? But honestly, if you're worried about your car being keyed, play it safe and never buy a car. I mean, sure it could happen, but it isn't likely to. Just like you could be hit by a driver with no insurance. There aren't any guarantees that nothing will happen to it, but it isn't likely.

Don't worry about that.

I am 22 with a 2000 Porsche Boxster. I thought I would get people scratching my car out of jealousy, but 1 year later, everything is still fine.

Your dad only needs to worry about it if he has people that hate him. If he has enemies, they might try something.

Plus, Cadillac's are pretty common. They are not rare. No one will get jealous unless it is a Cadillac CTS-V. So I doubt anyone would purposely scratch one.
