Why DO WESTERNERS THINK THAT INDIANS RIDE ELEPHANTS?

Bugatti was founded in Molsheim, then Germany, today France as a manufacturer of high performance automobiles by Ettore Bugatti, an Italian immigrant described as an eccentric genius.

I would have said elephants are only ridden in parades and special events. Who said anything different? After all, in the US it's common to ride horses in the Independence Day parade, but I doubt many Indians assume we ride them all the time. In fact, not that many Americans have ever ridden on a horse. It's recreation or sport, not our usual thing. And a horse is nowhere near as expensive to maintain as an elephant.

We don't mean to offend. We simply thought you might be somewhat intelligent. I mean, if there were tigers roaming around in my neighborhood I'd rather ride an elephant than walk. They're just not native to America.
