It had run its course, and never managed the kind of sales GM hoped for in this segment.

The new Sonic should do much better.

They didn't. A new Aveo generation was introduced in 2011, it is called "Sonic" in North America for whatever reason - ask the marketing people ....

They didn't stop it. They just rebadged it the Chevy Sonic. Its quite cute actually



And the car doesn't suck. Its just more fitted for teenage girls and college kids. Just saying.
