What is the highest the highest horsepower car to date?

Yes, the Bugatti Veyron has 1001 stock horsepower, which is a powerful production car, but I was curious as to which car, be it production or built for racing, has the most horsepower. I know F1 cars are around 1300hp, so is there anything that tops that?

The SSC Aero is the most powerful production car it has 1180bhp
There is a 2200bhp 1972 Vauxhall Victor in England which is street legal
Top Fuel Dragsters have 7000-8500bhp
Current V8 F1 cars have about 750bhp
Eighties Turbo-Era F1 cars produced around 1300bhp in qualifying spec...
