what car is good for me!?

Postby lydia » Fri Jan 13, 2012 9:14 am

i've been driving the chevrolet tracker, we got a really really good deal on my old car.
but unfortunately its been written off.
i have a budget of 6000 dollars, and unfortunately the trackers are not that amount.
i loved my car because it was a compact SUV... therefore it was as small as a car, but high so i could easily see out of it as i am only 5 feet tall.

i'm looking for cars that are affordable and low in mileage.
i'm not asking you to find them for me but to suggest other types of cars that would work.
remember i am only in grade 12 and can not afford crazy prices as i have to pay for it all myself.
i've looked at the vitaras too.
these and the trackers are pricey and are limited out there!
please please help me, i know i sound dramatic but i can't go on driving my mom's van!
i don't feel safe in it and have actually just got into another side swipe with another car 15 days after my rollover!!!!!

the cars i am looking for must be easy to see out of for short people and failry priced.

If I were you I wouldn't look at any kind of light SUV (or SUV in general) since they are more prone to rollovers and such. If your budget is 6000 dollars, go to AutoTrader.com and see what you can find in your area. Also check your local craigslist.

If you are able to find a Mini Cooper (maybe like a 2005) for <6000 that would probably be nice.
A Volvo wagon from 2003 and earlier might fit in that price category too. They're comfortable, spacious, long-lasting, and safe of course. That's what I drive (I'm also gonna be in grade 12)

I would defiantly get a Isuzu amigo or Isuzu rodeo sport (same thing, they just had a name change on the newer models). i have a rodeo and i love it. the 4wd is unbeatable and they are pretty reliable. i have 160000 miles and i bought it at 60000 miles and am now coming across the only problem ever which is just spark plugs.

Oh and your not gonna find a mini for under 10 grand thats worth buying if you even find one.

Im also grade 12 lol

I’d suggest a used Chevrolet Equinox. It’s a crossover SUV so it’ll give you more space and it’s the size you’re looking for. Plus the Equinox is very fuel efficient and safe – it was just named a 2011 IIHS Top Safety Pick. Definitely check out the Equinox!

Thanks,
