small amounts of white smoke coming from dipstick... help?

ok so i noticed that there is a small amount of white smoke that comes from the dipstick when its pulled out slightly while the engine is running does anyone have any idea why? ive got an alfa romeo 416 junior, its a twin spark engine.

It is normal for oil to do that in all cars. The older oil gets, the easier it heats up and when it heats up it smokes.

It's just crankcase pressure, completely normal. also, why are you checking the oil while the car is running? you may also want to look into changing your PCV valve, that may help, it could be stopped up a little causing the crank case to build pressure, either way, no problem.

you are good its normal it just oil heating up mix with a little crankcase gases.

well first, you dont check the oil when the car is running. you only check the auto trnsmission oil when its running. The smoke you see is called blowby...its combustion gases that "blowby" the piston rings and valve seals in an engine. A small amount is good. a lot is bad.
