Should he reconsider his career?

Postby wallace » Tue Jan 17, 2012 10:55 pm

My boyfriend graduated with his bachelors in automotive technology last December and since then hes been working for several companies. Earlier this year he worked as an entry level technician for Auffenburg and Chrysler and was fired from both within a few months because he wasn't progressing like the other trainees. Now since August hes been working for Ford at the call center in a different state which is where I will be moving to in May and they have told him the same thing. Hes a very hard worker and a good one at that. He doesn't get whats going on and he may lose his job in a few weeks. Should he rethink his career or what? He just established his new life in a new state and within four months he may be fired.

He needs to figure out what is going on, what is wrong. How did he do in school? How does he like the work? Does he understand what he is being asked to do? Without knowing what is wrong, its difficult to fix it. He may be able to get some help from his supervisors, they may be able to tell him what he seems to be good at and what he is not doing so well at, and give him some pointers. Or perhaps the other trainees might help him understand what is going on.
