My husband said this is this a scam, what do you think?

Hello,

I'm selling this beautiful 2008 Cadillac CTS Base because my daughter is in hospital, is very sick and I need money for treatment. I'm under enormous time pressure cause I need to sell it fast, before 11th of November that being the reason for selling it so low. My husband and I divorced last month, after the divorce I was awarded the car. It is in immaculate condition, non-smoker, meticulously maintained and hasn't been involved in any accident... Clear title. The total price is $12,895 including delivery and handling to your address. It is located in ______ where I recently moved with my job.

I don't want to offend you, but the car is priced for a fast sale so if you intend to apply for a loan or financing please do not reply to this message.

The transaction will be managed by Amazon Payments for our own protection as they act as a neutral third part. Amazon Payments policy is safe & advantageous for both of us: they will keep the money until you inspect/test the car (you have 5 days for inspection) and in the mean time, offers me the guarantee that you have the amount needed to buy it and you will pay it once you received and accepted it. If the car is not in same condition as I said you will ship it back on my expense and Amazon Payments will send you a full refund. But I assure you won't be the case.

Get back to me and let me know what you decide. Thank you for your time and interest.

God bless you and your family,
bridie

Your husband is a smart man.

There is no such thing as "Amazon Payments".

This is a well known and very well publicized scam.

Obvious scam, I know bc I know how they work. She/he is using urgency which is a sign of a scam I could go into depth but why when it's obvious...

Oldest scam in the world
You are a grown woman - you should see the writing on the wall

How to sell a car fast:
Take it to 3 cadillac dealerships in your town and get estimates
Tell them you will go with the highest bidder. Get it in writing

I sold my car in less than 2 hours this way. Give it a nice wash first

Yes. It is a scam.

There is no car.

The person who sent the email is probably in Nigeria. English is definitely not their native language.

I'm assuming this was an email from someone you don't know?

Do you really even need to ask? Please stay off the Internet.

100% SCAM - this is a typical scam targeting people in sites like Craiglist. There is no car - there are pictures stolen off some real person's listings and an attempt to steal over $12k from you

There is no such thing as Amazon Payments. It doesn't exist. Amazon is only involved in sales where the item was listed for sale on Amazon's website and you pay directly through Amazon's site. Amazon does not keep money - they credit the seller's account immediately. They do not ship cars

Why would anyone sell a car for way below market price and pay $2000 for shipping when they could walk into any local dealer and get at least $17k cash in hand in 15 minutes???

DO NOT respond for any reason and report asap to the site where the car was listed

You NEVER buy any car that you cannot see in person, have a mechanic check out, test drive AND verify in person that the seller's ID is the same name as on the title unless you are buying from a legitimate dealer and it's a collectible car.
