I thought that this problem was brake related so I changed the brake pads and the rotors just in case the rotors were warped (they were thinning anyways). After I changed everything however it still makes the sound when i brake, I haven't lost any braking power or anything like that it just make that nosie. Any suggestions of what it could be? Also lately I've had to put power steering fluid in because it was low, I don't know if that has anything to do with it... Any suggestions to what it could be? (it's a 2008 Chrysler Pt Cruiser automatic non turbo)

If its not your brakes making that noise it could be your CV joints or possibly a wheel bearing. I'm thinking more likely the CV joint. You can have a look at your joints and see if the boot is ripped and how badly it is. The boot holds in the grease and without the grease you will eventually develop a grinding noise
