Is having a nice car enough probable cause to stop a driver?

Ok. I don't mean to sound conceited, but i am 17 and my father is worth well over $20 Million. Therefore i drive nice cars. I own a Ferrari, Mercedes, and the car i was driving last night an Aston Martin. I was pulled over for being suspicious.

Here is the deal. My father owns and operates 12 nursing homes and he bought our city a homeless shelter along with a few other business men who own real estate. There is no point of me getting a job therefore i am unemployed and plan on inheriting my dads business when he is no longer able to work due to age or sickness. Part of my fathers agreement is i need to learn responsibility therefore i spend over 40 hours a week committed to the homeless shelter. The shelter is in a rough area of the city in fact in the projects, so i always drive a ford explorer to and from the shelter. Two nights ago i had issues with the explorer and decided it wouldn't hurt to drive the Aston Martin for one day considering i kept a good eye on it.

As i was pulling out i was immediately pulled over one cop actually was holding his firearm. They asked what i was doing in that area associating with "Black men". I told him i was working at the shelter and he said someone who works at a shelter couldn't afford an Aston Martin. I didn't respond. He then said- "There is a difference between the truth and a lie, the truth is and a lie was and yous was."

After listening to their BS i finally told them my fathers name and they quickly changed their attitude apologizing and everything.

Why was i pulled over to begin with?
Can a car be pulled over just for looking suspicious?

drug dealers are often younger and make enough money to be able to drive nice cars
but that didn't seem right to me maybe the person they were following was supposed to be driving a nice car and they didn't want to wait or it could have turned into a high speed chase
but that doesn't explain why they would be going off on you like that

Probably jealous of you. Consider yourself lucky they didn't feel fit to kill or maim you.
