often the easiest way to figure out value is to find comparable boats listed on sites such as nadaguide.com

or in the case of smaller alum boats, figure out what a comparable new one costs.
in this case, a 12' riveted jon boat runs $550 new,
and a new mercury 6 hp runs about $1,700.
alum hulls dont age much, so you can probably get $300 or so for the hull. but its an old outboard, and if its truly a chrysler outboard everybody knows they suck......

make sure its recently maintained fully, make sure your willing to demo it on the water and prove its ready to use right away, ask for $750 and be prepared to give a bit.

That would work great. You could get by with the short shaft as well. I would say at the outside maybe 6 hundred.

Not sure what those guys were reading but I take it you are thinking of buying a long shaft 1975 6hp chrysler for the 12' boat you have. No way would i pay $600 for that motor

Used small outboards are still worth $200 as long as it runs. Not running $50. Good luck!

most 12' aluminum boats have a 15" transom.a 20"engine will work on a 15" boat, but not as well as it should.also, i would question a 35 year old chrysler.if your transom is in fact 15",i would hold out for a 15" engine.
