Do you notice American automakers do not manufacture affordable vehicles with quality and reliability?

compared to automakers like kia and Hyundai. For example brand new 2012 Kia Rio starts under at 13,600 dollars and provides 30 mpg in city and 40 mpg on highway. It comes with automatic transmission and A/C, Heat is also included in the price. Comes with 100,000 mile warranty. And has 43.8 inches front leg room. That is more legroom than any American car provides. Not even the expensive cadillac or lincoln navigator models provide that much leg room. In fact it is among the top 10 maximum legroom in the auto industry. It has bigger engine than toyota corolla. Provides low price and reliable car. In comparison if you compare GM or Chrysler cars, they cannot have starting price of 13,800 with 30 mpg in city and 40 mpg on highway. And if they do happen to have that, the leg room will be cramped and interior won't be spacious. Neither would the warranty be as good as kia's. Lot of conservative and others say, "buy american car. don't buy import" but what they don't get it is that foreign car companies like kia and hyundai provide more features, more value and more car for less price. Also on edmunds website, 2012 kia rio has impressive reviews while chevy sonic has negative reviews. sonic beaten by kia rio in fuel economy, price and leg room and warranty too. This just shows why GM and Chrysler cannot compete with foreign automakers anymore.
Also from advertising standpoint. Kia company creates its own yahoo answers account to lure people into kia and educate them about the features and advantages.

Chevrolet, Chrysler don't do that, so their advertising is not that creative. They don't take advantage of free advertising on yahoo answers like kia does
sadcat: but ironically you will be the one to get yahoo answers violation. the question is relevant to politics because the auto bailout was big issue and 3 years after the bailout they still continue making crappy cars.
spam technically is defined as a communication where a link is provided that takes you to an EXTERNAL website asking you to purchase something. I never suggested anyone to buy anything and neither did I show a non-yahoo external link to be qualified as spam. The question is phrased correctly so "not a question" cannot be applied. Posting question in wrong category is NOT a violation as you are free to post any question in any category (read Terms and conditions of yahoo answers) but answering "wrong category" or "spam" is violation indeed.
Free at last: its obviously false. if that was true, then explain how Hyundai/Kia automotive group became the world's 4th largest automaker, the fast growing auto-company and the maximum profit making automaker? Also how did they drop Ford to 5th position? they must be doing something right to see such phenomenal growth
i have been using yahoo answers for 5 years and i know what is violation and what is not. if this question does get reported, it will be re-instated 100% after the appeal.
i myself drive 2007 toyota. but the next new car will be kia or hyundai for sure.

Kia's are absolute crap. My neighbor crashed into a tree while driving his Kia. He was going 20 MPH and the whole car folded up like tin foil and wound up crushing him. His widow and children are devastated.

The cost of doing business in America is high, especially if there are unions involved.

When you are paying someone, for example, $ 20.00 an hour that is not the full labor costs. It can cost the employer as much as another $ 10.00 to $ 20.00 an hour with Social Security, Workers Compensation, Health Insurance, Unemployment, Liability Insurance, Vacation and Sick Leave COSTS.

So, you need to look into what Kia pays, their benefit packages, where the vehicles are made (what country) and whether the employees are unionized. You will find a correlation between high employee costs and high product prices, of which is common sense but that is increasingly becoming an endangered species.
