I have a 1967 chevrolet impala, while reversing out of a parking lot spot and turning my car all the way to the right and reversing I herd a pop. Almost like the sound of clipping a curb, but i knew i couldn't have. After putting it in drive and accelerating i felt the passenger front tire shake, this continued every time until i got home. Upon checking i realized the image of the part attached is of the drivers side front(not sure what the name is) was all dry rotted and the metal rod is cracked vertically straight through) the passenger side is now loose being that the weight is now on the drivers side. which im guessing is the reason the passenger side was rattling? can anyone tell me what the name of that part is? is it inexpensive to fix?http://mail.aol.com/34290-311/aol-6/en-us/mail/get-attachment.aspx?uid=29243560&folder=Inbox&partId=1
IN RESPONSE to "D": IT IS THE SWAY BAR LINK, THANKS! No big deal, cheap as hell to replace.
TO DON R: im actually going to school to be an auto tech. i was able to locate the problem, and can replace it no problem. just wasn't sure the name or price (parts for the 67 can get expensive sometimes.) She'll be fine before the weekend hopefully.
